The PRecedent is our PRSSA chapter’s newsletter that comes out at each meeting. All entries are submitted by students. This is a great way to get credit for a journalism class or just to practice writing!
This year’s PRecedent editor is Lizzy Nephew. If you’d like to send her a submission, here are the requirements:
- Make sure at least one person has checked over your work before you have submitted it. After looking at something for a long time, you can skip mistakes.
- All entries must be written in AP Style. For underclassmen, this would be a great incentive to join the mentoring committee. Your mentor can explain what AP Style is and how to use it.
- Submissions should be 300 – 400 words.
- Each submission must be e-mailed to Lizzy by each PRSSA meeting. She needs ample time to distribute the edition.
- Please send a picture of yourself with your article. Members want to know who you are!

I’ve only been editor since August 2008, and unfortunately I don’t have all of Sydney’s newsletters from last year. That explains why we only have select months prior to Aug ‘08. I’d try e-mailing her for a copy!
